Desiderium - An Image of Solitude is post-black metal / atmospheric black metal. It is also very progressive sounding, in fact the intricate guitar playing and the stylistic shifts in every song reminds me of early Genesis or Yes. In a good way. The competent harsh vocals pulls us back into black metal land, the last two songs also feature clean vocals.
The production is excellent, clear and balanced without sounding overproduced. Here are reviews from The Metal Archives and Don't Count on it Reviews. Note: If you're not a fan of lengthy synth intros you might want to skip the first track.
