Bloodshot Dawn - Bloodshot Dawn

Album artwork by Pär Olofsson

Bloodshot Dawn has opened a Bandcamp and released their same-titled debut album on it. And, wow, this is good. Ever since Islander sang their praises and streamed a couple of tracks over at No Clean Singing I've been hoping this would happen.

The main attraction of Bloodshot Dawn is the wicked soloing of the two guitarists, but all that guitar goodness lies on a solid foundation of well written melodic thrash / death metal. Here and there progressive parts peek through - there are a few passages that sound like an extreme version of Pharaoh. The vocals function as a gruff counterpoint to the slick soloing and the rhythm section is spot-on.

It's just a classy package. Awesome album art, and a sharp, clear, and well balanced production. An excellent debut.
