Vattnet Viskar - Vattnet Viskar

Artwork by Bryan Proteau

The self-titled debut EP by Vattnet Viskar is available on their Bandcamp. The band is from the US, their name is Swedish for "the water is whispering", and they play majestic black metal. The songs are hypnotic and propulsive, with a drive similar to parts of Altar of Plague's White Tomsb.

Vattnet Viskar have a great sense of songwriting dynamics, check out the epic synth part in Weakness and the last six minutes of Barren Earth, which is essentially varitions on a single riff done with great effect. A stellar debut. Here's a review from Don't Count on it Reviews

    1. That's cool to know. I really like the EP, too bad their forthcoming full-length probably wont be released on Bandcamp, now that they're signed to Century Media.
